With Avianca’s debut in Northern Brazil, a new phase is anticipated for air routes serving Belém. Currently, Avianca operates daily flights on the Belém-São Paulo and Belém-Brasília routes, and according to the website Mercados e Eventos, “The Pará Government is already studying actions and partnerships to strengthen Avianca’s new route.” All indications point to the state government’s efforts to establish a route between Belém and Bogotá, further expanding the international flight options available from Belém.

The potential Belém-Bogotá route would significantly increase connectivity to global hubs, as Avianca operates flights from Colombia's capital to various parts of the world, including New York, London, Buenos Aires, and many other destinations. In addition, the airline serves all of South America, Central America, the Caribbean, and a large portion of the United States.
In an interview with M&E, Tarcísio Gargioni, Avianca’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, stated, “We will carefully consider a potential flight to Bogotá and an additional frequency to São Paulo.”
However, the realization of this route remains uncertain. For now, we can only hope that one day Avianca will make this flight a reality, which would undoubtedly bring significant economic benefits to Belém.
